The Board of School Directors of the West Perry School District is seeking applications to fill a vacancy on the Board due to a recent resignation.
In accordance with the School Laws of Pennsylvania, the Board of School Directors intends to fill the vacancy at a public meeting on April 15, 2024. The individual appointed will serve until the reorganization meeting in December 2025.
To be eligible for this appointment, a resident, in accordance with section 322 of the Public School Code of 1949 as amended, must be: “any citizen of this commonwealth, having a good moral character, being at least eighteen (18) years of age, and having been a resident of the district for at least one (1) year, prior to the date of his election or appointment.” Further limitations exist for those holding other government offices or positions in the School District. Additionally, this opening is in Region III, so the appointee must be a Blain Borough, Jackson Township, Northeast Madison Township, Southwest Madison Township, Toboyne 1st or 2nd Township, or Tyrone Township resident.

Interviews will be scheduled with all eligible candidates before the Committee of the Whole Meeting on April 8, 2024, with the final candidate sworn in during the Monday, April 15, 2024, School Board meeting.
