West Perry School District operates prekindergarten classrooms in each of the elementary schools. Classes of approximately seventeen students are led by a teacher and paraprofessional. Students attend for 5 hours per day for 180 days each year. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs, interests, and developmental readiness of all children. Lessons are designed around themes in a caring, nurturing, and fun environment.
The West Perry Pre-K program is funded by the Pennsylvania Pre-K Counts Grant. The grant contains two primary eligibility requirements a child must meet in order to participate in the program:
- Age eligibility-Students must be age 3 or 4 BEFORE September 1st.
- Income eligibility-Families whose income is at or below 300% of the federal poverty level
Students are selected from applications during the enrollment process each Spring. Priority is given to students based on family income and other risk factors. Transportation is provided.
The application process for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in March 2025. If you would like to be notified when it starts, please complete the following survey: 25-26 West Perry Pre-K Application Information Request Form
