West Perry FFA Takes First Place in National Dairy Competition

On September 16, 2024, West Perry FFA members attended the All American Junior Dairy Management Contest at the All American Dairy Show hosted at the Farm Show Complex. This annual contest brings students from all over the nation to compete. The contest test competitors on their knowledge of the dairy industry. More specifically, competitors were tested on their ability to judge and evaluate dairy cattle, knowledge of feedstuffs used in dairy cattle rations, farm business management, farm safety, feeding newborn calves, and dairy farm mechanics. West Perry’s FFA  team A consisting of Lila Kretzing, Leah Clouse, Sadie Innerst, and Greg Loy won first in the FFA division. The team placing in third consisted of Lucian Kretzing, Sayde Wiedenhof and Melivin Innerst. The team Placing in eighth consisted of Olivia Neff, Addison Taylor and Dominic Innerst. Individulay, Lucian Kretzing placed 9th, Olivia Neff Placed 8th and Lila Kretzing placed 3rd.
