Coach Moyer

Farewell to Coach Moyer
Coach Moyer

Scott Moyer has put a cap on the bottle that was a 34 year coaching career at West Perry.  He contributed to the Mustang Boys’ Soccer program as a junior varsity coach for several years, and, in two different stints, he served as the junior varsity coach for the Boys’ Basketball program.  Scott’s greatest legacy to West Perry Athletics, however, is his 29 year career as the Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach.  He took the program to heights previously unseen in Elliottsburg while accumulating an unbelievable 516 wins.  Along the way Moyer’s teams also collected – 18 Perry County Tournament Championships, 10 Mid Penn Division Championships, 2 PIAA District III Championships, and 2 PIAA State Tournament quarterfinal appearances.     He also coached eleven different players to score at least 1,000 career points, including Jodi Urich and Erin Sober, who both went onto Division I college basketball playing careers at St. Bonaventure University.  Coach Scott Moyer has certainly left an indelible mark on the proud history of the West Perry Athletic Program.
