West Perry School District is excited to welcome Mr. David Zula as our new Superintendent. Although his first official day was March 18, he has been preparing for his new role since January, participating in board meetings, planning with administrators and learning about our community. Mr. Zula was impressed with West Perry High School’s production of Into the Woods and he is looking forward to attending future extra-curricular events.   

Mr. Zula joins us most recently from Fannett-Metal School District where he served as the Middle School/High School Principal. Throughout his educational career, Mr. Zula has held an array of positions which have provided him with diverse experiences which he brings to West Perry. Mr. Zula began his career as an elementary teacher at his hometown school district, Minersville before moving to Tamaqua Area School District as an elementary teacher. Mr. Zula’s administrative experiences began in 2006 when he served as an Assistant Elementary Principal. Since then he has also served as an Assistant Middle School Principal, an Elementary Principal, a Middle/High School Principal and now as Superintendent. Mr. Zula has also been a High School Baseball and High School Football coach. He obtained his Bachelor of Art Degree in Political Science and Elementary Education, his Master of Science in Educational Leadership and his Principal’s Certification from Wilkes University. He earned his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Shippensburg University.

Mr. Zula is eager to lead a school district that can provide many opportunities to its students. He is thrilled to join the West Perry community and work with administrators, support staff, teachers and families to ensure success for all West Perry students.
