PreK

As a PreK Counts recipient, West Perry School District operates prekindergarten classrooms in each of the elementary schools. Classes of seventeen students are led by a teacher and paraprofessional. Students attend for 5.5 hours, 180 days each year. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs, interests, and developmental readiness of all children. Lessons are designed around themes in a caring, nurturing, and fun environment.

Students are selected from applications during the enrollment process each Spring.  Priority is given to students based on family income and other risk factors. Transportation is provided.

The applications for the following school year begins in March.  Applications can be printed and mailed, or delivered to the District Office. You can also call the District Office and have a copy mailed to you. The District Office is located at 2606 Shermans Valley Rd, Elliottsburg, PA 17024. The phone number is 717-789-3934. Access the PreK Application.

If you have a child who is age 3 or 4, you can receive periodic mailings that provide news and information about school readiness as well as PreK events and offerings, including applying for PreK. Please call the district office, or complete this survey to add your name to our mailing list. Through this process you can also request to have a PreK application mailed to you automatically when the new enrollment period opens.
