I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to each of you, or at the very least, give you some history. Well, where do I begin? My wife and I officially arrived on July 1, 2014 but I have been spending time in the district during the month of June
. Over the past few months it has been both rewarding and challenging as we transitioned from Elk County (Ridgway School District). We have purchased a home within the district and look forward to learning more about the community and the blessings of living and working within the West Perry School District.
My life experiences include: being raised on a farm, serving in the United States Air Force, gaining my undergraduate degree from York College of Pa, Masters from Western Maryland College, and Doctorate from Immaculata University. I come to you as a former teacher (middle school for 7 years), coach (20 years: basketball, volleyball, and Junior Olympics), high school administrator (14 years) and superintendent (3 years).
Personally, I married my high school sweetheart; I got the better end of the deal! We have three grown sons (a teacher, a school administrator, and a police officer), and have been blessed with three beautiful grandsons.
I am very excited to get to know each of you and to collaborate as we meet the needs of our students. If you would like to meet with me in person, please contact my secretary (Mrs. Sheaffer) to schedule an appointment.
In closing, my personal goal is to spend time learning about West Perry and assist you in meeting the needs of our students, staff, and administration.
